Job description
At Orbisk, we’re on a mission to create a world where zero food waste isn’t just a dream—it’s a reality. We combine cutting-edge tech with a sustainability-first mindset to help the hospitality industry make smarter, greener choices. As a proud B-Corp, we’re leading the way in the fight against food waste, and our results speak volumes: over 4,600,000 kg of food waste eliminated in 46+ countries (and counting!) 🌍
We don’t just offer technology; we’re a trusted partner to our customers, working side by side with them to create lasting change. By listening closely and continuously innovating, we build solutions that drive both environmental and business impact.
With our team growing rapidly, we’re looking for a Data Analyst to help us turn complex food waste data into clear insights that accelerate our impact—one plate at a time. 🌱
What’s on the menu?
As our Data Analyst, you’ll be part of Orbisk’s Data & AI team and play a key role in transforming large, complex datasets into actionable insights for both our customers and our product teams. A typical week might see you deep-diving into data from hundreds of Orbisk devices across different countries, time zones, and customer contexts—one moment building dashboards, the next joining a food waste coaching session to help customers truly understand their data.
You’ll become an expert in the data generated by our Orbisk food waste monitors and the Orbisk Dashboard—our data-rich product that enables hospitality businesses to track, analyze, and reduce food waste. You’ll work closely with product owners, developers, Orbisk coaches, and other stakeholders to ensure our insights are not only accurate, but intuitive, scalable, and valuable.
Beyond day-to-day analysis, this role is about spotting patterns: understanding how our most successful customers use data, translating those learnings into product improvements, and continuously raising the bar on data quality and usability. In short, you’ll be our in-house “data detective,” turning leftovers into learnings and insights into impact.
Job requirements
The key ingredients for success
You have 4+ years of experience working with data in an analytical role.
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
You excel at translating questions and requirements into clear data analyses, reports, and dashboards that drive decision-making.
You take a thorough and detail-oriented approach to data, with a strong focus on accuracy, structure, and quality.
You’re highly skilled with SQL, Python, data visualization, and dashboarding tools.
You enjoy working with data-heavy products, where extracting value requires creativity beyond standard reporting (a big plus!).
You’re comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and explaining complex insights in a clear, user-friendly way.
Bonus points if you have experience in SaaS, scale-ups, or international data environments.
Why join Orbisk?
There are plenty of good reasons. Some are big—like making a real impact by reducing food waste and cutting CO2 and water footprints worldwide. Others are more personal—joining a fast-growing scale-up is exciting, full of opportunities, and yes, a great story to share. Plus, you’ll be part of a team that’s driven, innovative, and just a little adventurous. And of course, we’ve got some great perks to offer too:
€4800 - €5,500 per month ex. holiday allowance (depending on knowledge and experience).
32-40 hour work week in a hybrid office setting, lunch included.
To take a break to recharge, we encourage you to take 30 days of annual leave per year (based on full time).
To ensure you are taken care of later on, we have a pension contribution of 7%.
Everyone has different needs when it comes to benefits. That’s why we offer you a flexible spending budget of € 40 per month that you can use towards health and wellness.
To support your learning and growth, we offer an annual personal education budget of €500. But we also organize additional team learning activities and if needed provide access to career coaches.
An annual home office budget of €250 is offered, so you can create a nice work from home space.
We make sure we regularly organize company activities to connect and have fun with your colleagues.
